Private Jet from London to Dubai

Dubai is becoming the new go-to destination for business and pleasure alike. The rapidly growing city now has two airports, and its popularity is still on the rise.

There are two airports to choose from when flying into the city - Dubai International and Dubai World Central. Although Dubai World Central is further from the city centre than Dubai International, the journey time is often the same as traffic can be heavy when leaving the very busy International airport.

Why do Yacht Charter Customers Fly by Private Jet?

Why do Yacht Charter Customers Fly by Private Jet?

People that charter yachts will more often than not hire a private jet to fly to their awaiting floating paradise, but why?

The beauty of yachts (and the reason you'll want to charter one) is that they move. On your demand, wherever you'd like to go. This can also prove a logistical nightmare when looking to fly to and from your yacht - which is where private jets come in. If you fly commercially, you may need to book two one way flights (if your yacht charter will end in a different place to where you started), and the yacht will need to dock in a bigger, more expensive port to meet you. In many cases, you can liase with your yacht charter company to arrange an appropriate meeting point for the lowest possible repositioning and docking costs. Chartering a private jet to a smaller, little known airport closer to your yacht can actually offer a lower price than an expensive reposition for the yacht.

Astute Aviation | Private Jet Charter | Yacht Hire | Luxury Travel | Jet Sharper

It's well known how much time you save when travelling by private jet. Can you imagine sitting in a commercial airport for three hours, with the anticipation of a luxury yacht waiting for you at the other side? Hire a private jet to get you as close to the yacht as possible - then we can book road or helicopter transfers to your yacht if you require it. Most yacht charters charge weekly, so make the most of all the time available to you on board.

Private jet charter also offers the unparalleled experience of luxury travel, which can't be matched by a commercial flight on any level. Flying privately is in some circumstances only a fraction of the cost of chartering a large yacht for a week, so why not complete the experience?

Whatever your reason for flying, we would love to help you organise your trip. We are available for consultation 24 hours a day, so get in touch with one of our private jet charter experts on +44(0) 203 880 9005 and let us tailor a schedule to suit you. After all, luxury is freedom, so why stay grounded?

How to Book a Private Jet

How to Book a Private Jet

Flying by private jet is exciting, and offers an unrivalled level of flexibility within luxury travel. But how does the booking process actually work for a private jet, and how does it differ to booking a commercial flight?

Astute Aviation | Private Jet Charter | Jet Hire | Jet Sharper

There is one fundamental difference between flying commercially and by private jet - flexibility. When booking an airline flight, you enter your travel dates and are presented with times (and sometimes even dates) that are predetermined. Some airlines only fly into certain airports, and this can really hinder the number of choices you have. And these constraints apply to all passengers - regardless of whether they fly economy or first class.

Step one - enquire with us

If you're even considering flying privately, the first step is to contact us in the way that suits you most. You may know exactly what you're after, or you may want to have a conversation with us to discuss your requirements and let us tailor an itinerary that works for you. This can include finding out which airports are closest to you and your arrival destination - since private jets have access to a huge number of airports that commercial jets do not. From here, you can just leave the hard work with us! We will find the ideal aircraft for your trip and party size, and come back to you with a selection of options. Any extras (such as helicopter or road transfers) can also be discussed here, and we will look into this for you at the same time.

Step Two - Your Proposal

Your request will be assigned to a dedicated charter expert, ensuring you have continuity throughout the booking process. We have access to thousands of private jets worldwide, so your perfect aircraft is never far away. We will source quotations for a number of private jets that match your needs and place these into one single proposal document (with prices that include all relevant taxes for your flight), with multiple photos of each relevant aircraft. Our relationship with our closest operators puts us in a position to negotiate the best possible rates on your behalf, so you know you won't be paying more than you need to be. Once you've received these and are happy with the options, you simply need to let us know which one you would like to book - no fuss.

Step three - Confirmation

After letting us know which private jet you've chosen for your trip, we will return to the operator for a final confirmation of the flight. Here, your dedicated account manager can also deal with any personal requirements such as the catering you'd like during your flight, as these are booked through the aircraft operator. Once this is completed, the aircraft is reserved and charter agreements will be exchanged. Payment dates and details will be outlined in your agreement, and we'll need to you send in a few things (such as passport details) prior to your departure. Upon completion, your private jet is booked and the flight ready to go ahead!

Step four - fly

On the day of departure, you simply need to arrive at the airport 15 minutes before your flight is due to take off. Everything will be taken care of to ensure a smooth journey, so you simply need to board and enjoy the experience.

Beating Jet Lag with Private Jet Travel

Beating Jet Lag with Private Jet Travel

Jet lag occurs when you cross time zones, and the time differences disrupt your body's circadian rhythm. Although the degree of impact varies between individuals, there are several steps you can take to minimise jet lag.

A quick search will tell you the main steps to battling jet lag after a flight. Simple steps such as drinking plenty and avoiding napping during the day at your destination are fairly achievable - but it can still take some people a full day to recover. More often than not, people don't want to lose the first day of their holiday groggy and adjusting to the new time zones - and business travellers can have important meetings to attend on day one.

There are several ways that private jet travel can significantly reduce the impact that crossing the time zones has on your body. Private jet cabins are pressurised to a lower altitude than commercial aircraft, so private jets offer a journey that is much gentler on the body (especially in terms of fatigue and dehydration). Cabin air is also fresher, and you are in charge of how bright the lights are - regardless of the time of day.

A very common point across the internet is to adjust your meal times on the day of travel, and eat according to the time at your destination. Generally, commercial airlines will provide food according to the departure time zone which limits your control over this. When flying by private jet, you'll be served exactly what you want when you want, so your body will be well on the way to acclimatising to your new time zone before you even land.

The same goes for sleep! If it's 1am at your destination when you take off, you should try and get at least a couple of hours of sleep during the flight. This will help kick start the adjustment and give you energy to make it through a full day on the other side instead of forcing yourself to stay awake for 18 hours. This is always far easier said than done on a commercial flight; the seats are uncomfortable, the lights can be bright and there is usually a lot of noise. Most private jets have an area that can be converted in to a full bed, which will make it far easier to get a good rest before arriving.

Lineage_1000_Ultra_Large_Business_Jets_Master_Suite.jpg

If you take off late at night but it's the middle of the day where you're flying, you can keep the lights bright to simulate daylight, and the whole cabin is yours to move around freely. Many people suggest light exercises or yoga, and anyone can tell you how easy that would be in the narrow aisle of a commercial airliner!

We are also able to schedule your flight times to help minimise the impacts of jet lag, such as ensuring you land in the morning at your destination so you're able to stay busy throughout the day, and have a full nights sleep at the end of it.

As much as private jet charter won't leave you completely immune to the effects of jet lag, it can certainly offer a lot more to help you combat it - so you're already most of the way to being adjusted to your destination time zone before you even step off the aircraft. If massively reducing jet lag isn't enough of a reason to charter a private jet for business, have a read about the other benefits of business charter

Business Jets or Business Class?

Business Jets or Business Class?

Business Jets or Business class, similar in some ways, very different in others. We took a look into the benefits of using a business jet over business class.

business class | private jet | jet hire |
business class | private jet | jet hire

Time

A huge factor for anyone who travels regularly for business purposes! Business class is a pleasant experience, with many commercial airports offering  separate security queues and lounges for these customers. However, this doesn't automatically reduce your total time spent travelling. With a business jet, you're able to arrive up to just 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time, with the option to arrive sooner and enjoy lounge facilities if you wish. We are also able to provide for most catering requests and include this in the charter price, meaning employees can eat anything whilst in the air. A small touch maybe, but reducing the number of things to do on the ground can really help reduce the overall duration of the journey.

Private jets also have generally shorter flight times than commercial aircraft, due to the fact that we fly higher and have more direct routings in to the arrival airport. We thought a side by side comparison of the time taken by a business jet charter versus a commercial trip would give a better insight, so you can see a breakdown and just how much time you could potentially win back. We have based this on one of our more common business routes - London (office situated in Canary Wharf) to Dublin City Centre for a meeting at 11am. This is a common occurrence due to the large number of tech companies based in Dublin.

Immediately you can see that flying commercially can cost you more than an entire working day, whereas a business jet charter allows your employees to start their day at the usual time, and still be back in the office for the afternoon. Not only this, but flying commercially limits you to flying at the times of the airline, which can leave large chunks of wasted time in between flights and meetings. The commercial flight is also best case scenario, and you have no control over any delays which may cause you to miss crucial meetings or lengthen the trip even further.

Convenience

Although time spent at the airport plays a part in this, chartering a private jet for business also gives you many more options. Being much smaller than commercial aircraft, private jets are able to fly into smaller airports that may be much closer to your final destination and therefore reducing your transfer time. When flying with a commercial airline you are limited to their schedule, but if you charter your own jet you have full control over when you travel. Business jet hire can be fully worked around your needs, and there is even potential to have facilities for employees to sleep on a flight back from a business trip, allowing them to be ready to get back to work the next day - potentially removing the need for an overnight stay. Private jet cabins are also pressurised to an altitude usually around 2000ft lower than those of commercial aircraft,  this greatly reduces the impact on the human body that flying can have, such as fatigue and dehydration, allowing you to be working at full capacity sooner after landing.

business class | jet hire | private jet

Productivity

A business jet is all yours for the duration of your flight, and other passengers looking over your shoulder is one thing you shouldn't have to worry about. The aircraft can essentially become a flying boardroom so that business can go on as usual with minimal disruption. Wifi is now available on many private jets (read more about it here), so you don't even need to disconnect from your colleagues whilst you fly. We understand how important it is to maximise the productivity of employees, or even make the most of a contractors hourly rate, so from booking to post flight feedback, we ensure that the process is smooth and requires minimal time input from Personal Assistants or travel bookers, compounding the benefit of charter.

Cost

Buying a business class ticket for just one person may work out cheaper than chartering an entire jet, but there are definitely circumstances where charter is the more cost effective option. This may be if you need to send several employees on the same trip, and chartering one plane could well be cheaper than buying multiple business class tickets for a flight. And as previously mentioned, a private jet is usually able to fly much closer to your destination, reducing the cost of transfer time after the flight. Empty legs may also be an option, we will always see if there are any aircraft heading to, or from your destination around when you need to travel, as these aircraft can be priced up to 75% off the usual charter price.

Can your business afford not to charter private jets?

Private Jets are for the rich and famous.... or so many people think. In actual fact, private jets make a PHENOMENAL business tool.

There's a very common misconception that private jets are mainly used by celebrities, but this isn't actually true. A large percentage of private jet flights are actually for business purposes.

In business, time is money. To put it very simply, travelling by private jet puts time on your side, as it enables you to achieve more in less time than your competitors. Private jet travel gives you the ability to visit multiple countries in one day, whether you're flying to finalise a deal or attending a board meeting - you can always be home to sleep in your own bed at the end of the day.

Private Jet Charter For Business | Corporate Jet Hire | Business Jet | Hire a Private Jet.

Say goodbye to 4am starts and 3 hours hanging around in an airport. We thought a side by side comparison of a business jet charter versus a commercial trip would give a better insight, so you can see a breakdown and just how much you could potentially win back.

Scenario: Eight executives from your London office need to attend an important board meeting in central Manhattan at 10am on a Wednesday.

Private jet

Challenger 350 | 8 Passengers | £57,000

+ 1 night in a Manhattan hotel for 8 people. Tuesday Dinner and Wednesday Lunch and Dinner included in private jet charter price

COMMERCIAL FLIGHT

8 Business Class Tickets | £45,500 or 8 First Class Tickets | £74,800

+ 2 nights in a Manhattan hotel and all meals on Wednesday for 8 people

TUESDAY:

Leave the office at 5pm, for a 6pm departure from London Luton. Land in Teterboro Airport at 8pm New York time.

WEDNESDAY:

Board meeting at 10am. Leave Manhattan around 11am for an 11.45 departure from Teterboro Airport. WiFi enabled private jet so work can continue as normal for the rest of the working day.

Land in London Luton at midnight UK time.

THURSDAY:

Back to work as normal.

TUESDAY:

Leave the office at 12.30pm for a 4.15pm departure from London Heathrow. Land in JFK Airport at 7.15pm New York time.

WEDNESDAY:

Board meeting at 10am for an hour, then spend the rest of the day in Manhattan to continue working. Evening in Manhattan including dinner for 8 to be expensed.

Stay a second night in Manhattan.

THURSDAY:

Arrive 5.30am at JFK airport for a 7.55am departure, landing in London Heathrow at 7.45pm UK time.

The difference is clear here - flying commercially can lose you eight of your top executives for an entire working day whilst they fly, which could cost the business an unprecedented amount. Not to mention the fatigue experienced by an extra three hours of airport time added to each journey! For long flights crossing multiple time zones, jet lag can also prove an issue. Learn about beating jet lag with private jet charter to maximise productivity during business trips.

Private jet charter provides a higher standard of service than airline first class, and allows your executives to continue working online for the duration of their flight - all for £18,000 less than sending them on a commercial flight. Treat your private jet cabin as a flying office, where no other passengers can listen in to confidential conversations, and you can remain up to date with emails or join a teleconference as you fly.

Why use a private jet broker instead of an operator?

Why use a private jet broker instead of an operator?

Private jet charter is absolutely not limited to celebrities - anyone can hire a private jet for a tailored luxury travel experience. but what actually is the difference between a private jet broker and an operator? and which is better to book your private jet travel through?

Astute Aviation | Private Jet Charter Hire | Business | Luxury Travel

Operators own and look after their own fleet of private jets, and manage the aircraft flight schedules. There are hundreds of private jet operators worldwide, and each works independently. If you enquire with an operator directly for a private jet charter, you are only able to receive quotations for the aircraft in their own fleet - and it can be difficult to keep track of everything when enquiring with multiple operators simultaneously.

Private jet brokers deliver a personalised quote containing the most suitable aircraft from a number of operators on your behalf. We have a strong aviation background and will always determine the best aircraft for your particular requirements, and then source the operators who own these. Since we have access to over 30,000 aircraft worldwide, availability for us is nowhere near as limited as it is for an operator with a fleet of 30 private jets - so we can guarantee we are able to find you the best aircraft at the best possible price. We have long-standing working relationships with many operators, so are often able to achieve more favourable pricing than if you were to go to them directly.

POSITIONING

Every private jet has a home base, which is the airport at which it stays when not in use. If you charter a private jet out of an airport that isn't its base, you also incur charges for repositioning the jet before and after your trip - for example, flying from London to Hamburg in a private jet that is usually based in Geneva would add a large extra cost. When booking through an operator, you are limited by where they keep the aircraft that you want to use. As a broker, we are often able to find the same model of private jet that is based much closer to (if not, at) your departure airport, keeping unnecessary costs to a minimum.

RELATIONSHIPS

Our founders have been a part of the aviation industry for several years, and, as previously mentioned, have built up good relationships with multiple operators. As well as access to better rates for private jet charter, you can rest assured we will only book you to fly with a safe and reputable operator who will offer you nothing short of a luxurious service - saving you the time of having to do the research yourself!

A TAILORED EXPERIENCE

We will work to create fully personalised, bespoke travel arrangements on your behalf. Where an operator books your private jets dependent on their own fleet and availability via the sales team, we are able to organise travel outside of the flights. Need a helicopter to get you from the airport to your destination? Or road transport to and from the airports? We are usually able to book all of this on your behalf and include it all in your charter quote - no unnecessary hassle for you.

We also work to perfect every single detail of your flight. Although an operator is able to do this with your guidance, having your broker take care of everything saves you valuable time. This can include anything from your catering (we can organise your in-flight menus, or if you fancy a Nando's during your flight, we will sort everything!) to placing your favourite champagne on board your private jet for you to enjoy during the flight.

Private jet travel is about luxury, so use a charter broker to do all of the work for you - then all you have to do on the day is turn up! Whatever your reason for flying, we would love to help you organise your trip. We are available for consultation 24 hours a day, so get in touch with one of our private jet charter experts and let us tailor a schedule to suit you on: +44(0) 203 880 9005.

Private Jet WiFi

Staying connected whilst flying is becoming the new standard across the globe, and private jet travel is at the front of the advances

Private jets are incredibly popular amongst business travellers, and not just due to the speed and flexibility that they offer over commercial airlines. They allow you to carry on working throughout your entire journey - the cabin can be configured to resemble a flying boardroom and there are no other passengers that could listen to confidential conversations. Read more on choosing business jets over business class here

The internet era has led to a demand for being able to remain fully connected, even 40,000 feet above the ground. Increasing numbers of private jets are now wifi enabled, so you don't need to disconnect and lose productivity for the duration of your flight.

Wifi onboard an aircraft is provided through either a land-based or satellite antenna, so available bandwidths can vary depending on the system used and the flight route. Land-based internet systems can be less effective for transoceanic trips, so tend to be installed on smaller aircraft that do not routinely make these journeys. Likewise, satelline wifi is more commonly used on long range jets which fly further, and so provide their passengers with a more consistent connection throughout their entire flight. Regardless of which wifi system your private jet has, you can be safe in the knowledge you will still have access to your emails and web browsing, or hold video conferences with your colleagues on the ground whilst you travel - something that would never be a possibility on a commercial flight!

Wifi-enabled private jet requests are not limited to business flights, as some passengers simply want to be able to remain connected to friends and family, or have the option to stream films and TV programmes whilst they fly.

Astute Aviation | Private Jet Charter Hire | Private Jet Wifi | Jet Sharper

We understand the importance of staying connected, and your productivity should never have to stop just because you're flying. When enquiring about private jet charter with us, simply tell us about your wifi requirements and we'll ensure that any aircraft we include on your quotation have what you need. Prices for internet access vary between aircraft and operators, but we will advise you and negotiate the best possible rates on your behalf. In some circumstances we may be able to offer a wifi package.

Whatever your reason for flying , we would love to help you organise your trip. We are available for consultation 24 hours a day, so get in touch with one of our private jet charter experts on +44(0) 203 880 9005 and let us tailor a schedule to suit you. Charter a Private Jet to the 2018 Super Bowl LII

On February 4th, the New England Patriots will go head to head with the Philadelphia Eagles for the 52nd super bowl in Minneapolis.

Every year, the Super Bowl is the most popular event for private jet charter flights. It's arguably one of the biggest sporting events in the USA, with the half time show (and events leading up to it) being just as big as the game itself.

This year, Justin Timberlake joins an esteemed list of recent halftime acts including Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Madonna, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, U2 and more.

Due to its popularity, slots for private jets at the surrounding airports fill up fast. There are five airports available to private jet charter clients within 15 miles of the US Bank Stadium, and helicopter flights from further airports can also be arranged.

Which is the best airport for ski flights?

There's still plenty of time to enjoy what's left of the ski season. Private Jet Charter is arguably one of the best ways to make the most of your trip, allowing you maximum time on the slopes and the shortest possible travel time. We took a look at the most popular ski destinations in europe, and the best airports to fly in to.

Pretty much every ski resort in the Alps has the capability for a helicopter to land, so a transfer from the closest airport straight in to your chosen resort is the quickest way to travel. We can include the price for this in one simple charter quote to get you skiing in as little time as possible! We are also able to arrange road transfers in many cases, though travel times will be considerably longer and variable due to the alpine roads.

Astute Aviation | Private Jet Charter | Ski Slopes | Private Jet Hire | Alps

Courchevel

In the heart of the three valleys, Courchevel is a hugely popular skiing destination in the Alps. The closest airport able to accept all flights is Chambery, which offers a one hour road transfer to the Courchevel resort, or 20 minutes by helicopter. However, Courchevel airport became able to accept commercially chartered flights in certain aircraft, reducing transfer time even further and giving you even more time out on the slopes. For more information on flying straight in to Courchevel, see: Courchevel now able to accept charter flights, or get in touch with one of our charter experts to organise this for you.

Flying in to Courchevel also brings you far closer to other popular resorts. Meribel is approximately two hours from Chambery by road, or 30 minutes by helicopter - but only a 45 minute drive or 5 minute helicopter flight from Courchevel.

Val D'Isere

Famous for it's social scene and nightlife for after a day on the slopes, Val D'Isere has a lot to offer. Its high altitude means it generally gets the snow and also keeps it for the longest! The most straightforward way to get there is via Chambery airport then a 40 minute helicopter transfer to the resort; but flying in to Courchevel can also be an option, reducing the helicopter flight time to just 5 minutes. A road transfer takes approximately two hours from either airport.

Verbier

One of the finest resorts in the Swiss alps boasting amazing scenery and a great nightlife, Verbier is popular for Skiers from all nationalities. Sion airport is right on the doorstep, so a helicopter transfer from here takes just 10 minutes - or approximately 55 minutes by road.

St Moritz

Arguably one of the most famous and luxurious resorts for skiing in Europe, St Moritz is well known for its unique slopes and amazing nightlife. Samedan Airport is a dedicated private jet airport, and sits just a 10 minute drive from the resort. Both the airport and resort sit at a similar altitude, so an aircraft approach in to Samedan offers unrivalled views over the mountains.

Chamonix

Chamonix boasts the longest ski run in the world at 24km long, and an extensive 261 other runs to surround one of the most expansive resorts found in the Alps. Private jet passengers fly in to Geneva airport, and can get to Chamonix by helicopter in just 20 minutes.

For reasons as to why private jet travel to ski destinations is so popular, have a read of our post on why you should charter a private jet to the ski slopes. Get in touch with one of our charter experts today and let us tailor a schedule to make the most out of your trip. After all, life is about adventure so why stay grounded?

Top Winter Sun Destinations by Private Jet

The cold isn't for everyone. a vitamin D injection never did anyone any harm, so why not take a break and charter a private jet to somewhere brighter? If you need any more convincing, take a look at some of our most popular winter sun destinations during cold months.

St Lucia

One of the Caribbean islands situated very close to the equator, St Lucia boasts a year round summer climate with average daytime temperatures of 29 °C. The dry season falls between December and May, so it's actually a more ideal destination for the winter months! There's plenty to do - whether  relaxing on a sun lounger  or hiking in the mountains and exploring the rainforests.

Private jet charter allows you the ability to fly in to either of St Lucia's two airports, which are situated at opposite ends of the island - perfect for reducing your ground transfer time and have you enjoying the sun sooner.

Dubai

Being straightforward to fly to and plenty of amazing things to see and do, Dubai is an ideal destination for anyone seeking a short luxury holiday in the winter months. It combines large stretches of desert beach with a large city, so you have the luxury to do as much or as little as you like for the duration of your break.

Average winter temperatures here reach 25 °C, perhaps a little more manageable than the 41 °C summer days.

Costa del sol

Winter temperatures sit a little lower here than some of the other destinations, but that doesn't make this strecth of Spanish coastline any less popular with our clients. It's the perfect destination for a short mid-season break, thanks to the much shorter flight time, and you still benefit from t-shirt weather. Hire a private jet and have the convenience to choose from Malaga or Gibraltar airport - whichever is closest to your destination, with no constraints on the date and time of your flights.

Thailand

November through to February are actually the most pleasant months to visit Thailand - where temperatures sit happily between 30 and 35 °C, and the humidity drops significantly to offer blissful beach weather.

With a huge number of airports able to accept private jet flights across the country, you can choose to visit the mainland or one of Thailand's beautiful islands.

Maldives

Would it even be a luxury travel post without giving the Maldives a much deserved mention? Notorious for the white sand beaches, turquoise waters and luscious tropical trees covering the inhabited islands, its the ideal place to get away from the stresses of daily life, for as little as or long as you need.

Choose from any luxury resort on one of the islands, and charter a private jet to get closer in less time - the Maldives is equally well known for being difficult to travel around commercially!

Pilatus PC-24 Now Certified

Pilatus PC-24 Now Certified

We are delighted to ANNOUNCE that the long-awaited private jet by Pilatus, THE PC-24 is now both FAA and EASA Certified; meaning this aircraft will soon be available to charter. It comes as no surprise that this falls perfectly within the predicted timeframe, how very Swiss!

Image from: Pilatus Aircraft

Image from: Pilatus Aircraft

This is the first time that Pilatus has ventured into the private jet space, having previously produced the incredibly successful PC-12, a single-engined turboprop aircraft. It's actually one of the only single-engined aircraft that has been certified for charter in Europe.

The PC-24 is being dubbed the 'Super Versatile Jet' this is due to its unrivalled short take-off and landing (STOL) capability. This carries many qualities over from its younger brother the PC-12, with its proven track record for being reliably versatile.  This aircraft will have the ability to land and take off from non-paved surfaces - including grass and dirt strips. This is a huge benefit for the charter market, where these conditions have previously confined passengers to the turboprop alternatives, which tend to have reduced range and speed over a private jet.

Image from: Pilatus Aircraft

Image from: Pilatus Aircraft

Another huge benefit of the PC-12 was its huge rear cargo door, and we are super excited the PC-24 will also boast this feature - giving it an edge over it's nearest rivals such as the Phenom 300 and Citation XLS/Latitude. This aircraft is proving to be every but as exciting as it was predicted to be, perhaps even more so now. With a plethora of superior features over the competition, could we be looking at the Swiss Army Knife of private jets? The Swiss Army Jet perhaps?

Image: Pilatus Aircraft

Image: Pilatus Aircraft

The PC-24 can be configured to offer a 6 seat luxury corporate jet with plenty of luggage space and, most importantly, a fully enclosed lavatory! The aircraft can also be arranged as a 4 seat business/executive jet with additional cabin and cargo space.

When can you charter the PC-24?

Now certified, Pilatus can start delivering almost immediately. We are expecting the first deliveries to be within the next couple of weeks, meaning you should be able to charter one early in 2018!

This is an exciting time for Pilatus, with the new single engined charter regulations and now with the launch of the PC-24, it's looking to be an incredible year for them!

We will be offering the PC-24 to charter as soon as the first one becomes available, so get in touch with one of our private jet charter experts today and let us tailor a schedule to suit you on +44(0) 203 880 9005.

Astute Explores Hamburg Christmas Markets

Following our post about visiting the European Christmas markets this winter, we paid Hamburg a visit for a short, snowy trip to the markets there.

Astute Aviation | Hamburg Christmas Markets | Private Jet Charter | Jet Sharper | Jet Hire

An early morning flight had us watching the sunrise over the clouds, before touching down with a full day ahead to explore and experience everything that Hamburg has to offer at Christmas.

The city centre contains several smaller clusters of stalls on the walk to the Rathaus, which is where the main attraction lies. We also managed to pass by the Winterwald, where dense trees and wood chips on the ground create a mini winter forest atmosphere amid the bustle of the city. The stalls here are almost entirely dedicated to food, housing many sweet and savoury german treats alongside some international specialities, such as freshly made paella, pizza and kebabs - including one large wooden hut boasting a log fire which was smoking meats and fish.

Astute Aviation | Hamburg Christmas Markets | Mulled Wine | Private Jet Charter | Jet Sharper | Gluehwein | Jet Hire

Overlooked by the city hall and a huge Christmas tree, the main market has everything you'd expect from a German experience at this time of year.  You're immediately greeted by large stalls selling Gluehwein - the original and some varieties, accompanied by the aroma of cooking meats further down. Walk in between the huts to find stalls selling all sorts of gifts, from candles and ornaments through to fur goods - you're sure to find a perfect souvenir! All the foods sold here are traditional German, and there is still a huge amount to choose from. We tried out some Bratwurst and Currywurst right before it started to snow, where a hot cup of mulled wine and some pancakes went down perfectly.

There are a handful of other markets scattered across the city, some of which we did not have the chance to visit. The atmosphere at the central Christmas market outside the Rathaus certainly crowned it as the highlight of the city, and is an absolute must-see. The majority of the markets are open for business until December 23rd, so there's still time to go and experience it for yourself! Private jet charter makes it possible to visit Hamburg just for the day, eliminating the need for an overnight stay and avoiding the chaos of flying commercially over the Christmas period.

Astute Destinations | Valencia

One of the more overlooked cities in Spain, Valencia actually served as the Spanish capital for a brief period on two occasions. With the average year round temperature sitting at a comfortable 18°C, the city prides itself on being the birthplace of paella and offering a culture rich experience.

Astute Destinations | Valencia | Paella Valenciana | Luxury Travel Blog | Jet Sharper

Things to see and do

The narrow streets of the beautiful Old Town are best navigated on foot - it's the ideal way to experience everything there is to see and discover some of the tucked away tapas bars, which serve the best and most authentic spanish foods! Plazas (squares) are scattered throughout the city, which offer the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a strong coffee, or something more refreshing if you'd prefer.

For a true market experience, be sure to visit the Central Food Market - the biggest of its kind in Europe. The building is a phenomenal attraction in itself, where the huge main hall consists of unique  iron beams and intricate hand painted tiles covering the walls and ceiling. Huge windows fill every space with strong natural light, along with a stained glass dome in the roof to depict the richness Valencia's fruit. Here you can find as good as anything food related, all sold by local vendors. You'll find seasonal fruit and vegetables, plenty of fresh fish, cold meats, cheeses, baked goods, olives and lots of wine; as well as the butcher's section, a huge fishmonger displaying all the local fresh catches, and many other things. Pick up some spanish saffron (said to be the best in the world), or some of the highest quality acorn-fed Iberian ham - an absolute classic and unrivalled by any other ham you can eat.

Religious or not, Valencia Cathedral is another must-see; it boasts some phenomenal architecture dating back to the 13th century. Entry is just €7 for individuals, or a group ticket works out at €4 per head, and includes a guided audio tour  with stories and history about each part of the building in a fascinating depth. The catherdral is also the home of the Holy Grail (the real one, not Monty Python's), which you can view in one of the smaller chapels. The bell tower "El Miguelete" is next door, where you can climb  its 207 step spiral staircase - the panoramic views of Valencia from the top are more than worth it! Plaza de la Vírgen is a postcard worthy square just outside the cathedral, and offers a large number of cafeterias for a drink or bite to eat.

Image uploaded from iOS.jpg

If you're into shopping, the high street (Carrer de Colón) boasts high-end stores such as Zara, Brandy Melville, United Colours of Benetton, designer cosmetics shops and many more to browse and treat yourself to something new.

What to eat

In terms of food, Spain is famous for its tapas and paella for very good reason. Try the smaller restaurants in the side streets for a more authentic experience, a place full of locals is a sure sign the food is up to spanish standards! Paella Valenciana is the local specialty, and absolutely should not be missed out on. Local tapas are another winner - instead of a full meal, try ordering a number of plates to share so you get a bit of everything. Our favourites include Croquetas de Jamón (Ham Croquettes), Calamares a la Romana (Fried Squid Rings), Boquerones en Vinagre (Anchovies Marinated in Vinegar) and Pimientos de Padrón (Padrón Peppers) - but grab anything that sounds good, as it probably will be! Small plates are inexpensive, especially in the smaller local places, so it's definitely worth getting anything that takes your fancy.

Astute Destinations | Valencia | What to eat | Spanish Tapas | Spain

Getting there

Valencia Airport is situated just 8km from the city so it's not difficult to get here; with most major airlines serving it and private jet facilities. Likewise, the port is only 6km and is a common destination for cruise ships and yachts. A taxi from the airport to the city centre will cost you about €25, or you can buy a Valencia Tourist Card - which allows you free public transport around the centre, a journey to and from the airport, as well as discounted entry into some attractions (including the cathedral).

Where to stay?

There are plenty of hotels scattered throughout the city centre, all within walking distance of the best sights. We suggest Caro Hotel, a 5* boutique housed in an old 19th century palace. With just 26 rooms, each unique and beaitfully designed, you're located right in the centre of the Old Town and just 200m from the cathedral. The luxury rooms retain the character of the original building, and a fantastic terrace offers the perfect place to unwind after a full day of exploring Valencia.

Whatever you get up to, we're sure you'll love everything this beautiful, traditional spanish city has to offer. It's the perfect short getaway for couples, families or groups of friends - it has something to please everyone.

Christmas Markets by Private Jet

Christmas Markets by Private Jet

European Christmas markets are world-famous, and rightly so. We're starting to feel festive, so took a look at some of our favourite destinations and the stunning markets they have to offer.

Imagine being able to fly all the way to Vienna, experience the beauty of their Christmas markets and festive atmosphere over the course of an afternoon and evening, then flying home again - all without the need for an overnight stay. Private jet charter makes this a possibility if your time is valuable to you. Flying privately allows significantly more flexibility when it comes to planning your trip - removing the two hour long wait at security for a commercial flight can make the world of difference, let alone being able to choose exactly when you fly rather than being at the mercy of an airline.

Travelling to the Christmas markets by private jet adds an incomparable level of luxury to your trip, no matter which city you decide to visit.

Prague

Set in the beautiful 12th century Old Square, the Prague markets attract tourists from all over the globe. The intricate lights, classic wooden stalls and carol singers create an idyllic  Winter Wonderland atmosphere, where you can enjoy traditional beers and mulled wine - as well as the Czech specialities on offer. Trdelník (flame-baked cinnamon cake) sounds far too good to miss.

By private jet, you can fly from London to Prague in under two hours, and the airport sits a mere 20 minute drive from the city centre. Markets run from December 2nd until January 6th, including Christmas eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day for a magical experience.

Paris

An icon in itself; more than 125 parisian squares and streets are lit up to welcome every single vistor to the French capital over the Christmas period. Indulge in the traditional french wines and cheeses at the foot of the Eiffel Tower whilst browsing the unique Christmas crafts on offer from local vendors.

A chartered aircraft gets you from London to Paris-Le Bourget (an airport exclusive to private jets, and closer to the city centre than the international airport)  in half the time taken with Eurostar, giving you longer to explore the city and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Le_marché_de_Noël_européen_au_Trocadéro_(Paris)_(4175210166).jpg

Vienna

Originating in 1298, this classic Austrian setting offers a wonderful blend of age-old tradition and culture with the modern day Christmas market. The main market is situated in front of the city hall, which is tranformed in to something from a fairy tale  with thousands of intricate lights; and there are five more large markets located throughout the city for you to explore.

You can fly to Vienna in as little as two hours from London, which allows you time to see as much of the city as you possibly can, and soak up every last moment of the experience.

Private Jet Charter | Luxury Travel | Jet Sharper | Christmas Markets | Private Jet Hire

Zagreb

You may know of Croatia as a summer holiday destination , but did you know it was voted the best European Christmas market in 2015? The main square is the central attraction, where the large Advent wreath encirlces  the Manduševac Fountain. Traditional wooden cabins can be found a five minute walk away at Zrinjevac, with a more initmate, fairy tale atmosphere serving the Croatian specialities and classic mulled wines.

A private jet will take you from London to six miles from Zagreb city centre in around two and a half hours. Markets run from December 2nd until January 7th, but Zagreb is best enjoyed before Christmas eve when advent is still being celebrated.

Private Jet Charter | Luxury Travel | Jet Sharper | Christmas Markets | Private Jet Hire

Frankfurt

German Christmas markets are some of the best known globally, and Frankfurt boasts one of the biggest markets in the country for both visitors and size. Five sites are adorned with elaborate deocrations, each offering a unique festive experience to cherish. Take the opportunity to sample all of the classic foods that german markets are renowned for; roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, local beers - and the famous Bratwurst.

London to Frankfurt takes just 90 minutes by private jet - giving you even less reasons to have to miss out on visiting the stunning city and what it has to offer around Christmas.

Private Jet Charter | Luxury Travel | Jet Sharper | Christmas Markets | Private Jet Hire

Hamburg

Another one? Germany's second largest city has been famous for its food markets for years, and the Christmas markets in Hamburg are no exception. Gluehwein  (traditional german mulled wine) originated in Hamburg for the Christmas markets; the air is filled with the scent of sweet almonds and gingerbread; and local craftspeople exhibit stunning handmade gifts from the beautifully decorated traditional wooden chalets.

For a sensational festive trip, experience the Frankfurt and Hamburg Christmas markets in one trip! Private jet charter offers the possibility for a seamless multi-leg trip in one aircraft, so you can stop off in both cities and enjoy what each has to offer.

Budapest

A beautiful, internationally acclaimed Christmas market based in the heart of the hungarian capital  boasts authenticity and culture like no other - the only crafts sold here are traditionally handmade by the vendors. Enjoy Budapest's famous open air thermal baths, which add a surreal dimension to the Christmas market experience; or see more of the stunning landscape with a night cruise down the river Danube.

Fly to Budapest in less than 3 hours on a private jet, and  immerse yourself into an old style Christmas market bursting with a true winter wonderland vibe.

Strasbourg

This stunning Alsacian town  has over 300 stalls spread across 11 sites. It is one of the oldest and largest Christmas markets in france, with the main market  having Strasbourg Cathedral as a picturesque backdrop.

Flying commerically to Strasbourg from London involves a 5 hour journey and a stopover, making it less commonly visited  by Brits. Charter a private jet to fly directly in to Strasbourg in just 75 minutes, and experience the magic for yourself.

Bruges

Last but by no means least, this gorgeous Belgian market is full of character. The cosy vibe creates an unrivalled, vibrant atmosphere that Bruges Christmas market is famous for. Walk down the cobbled streets and enjoy the mouth watering scent of fresh belgian waffles, or take a horse-drawn carriage ride down for a tour of the snowy city to experience a pure seasonal cheer that you won't find anywhere else.

Travelling to Bruges from London involves a 2 hour Eurostar trip (commercial flights are not available to Bruges), or you can arrive by private jet in less than 45 minutes and spend more time enjoying what Belgium has to offer.

Why do Sports Teams Charter Private Jets?

Why do Sports Teams Charter Private Jets?

It all comes down to winning. Our sports charter management team are dedicated to providing the ultimate service that allows you to carry on with what you do best - performing.

Private jet charter for your sports team has countless benefits. Whether it's flying your entire squad over to another continent for a huge tournament, travelling to a training camp or flying in a player or agent at the last minute to finalise a contract, we have the resources to organise every detail from start to finish at the most competitive rates.

It's well known that travelling by private jet eliminates the two hour airport wait for a commercial flight, and chartering allows you far more options if you need to fly somewhere at short notice. Effects on the team members can be astounding too. Flying privately allows players to spend less time travelling, which leaves more for rest or training. This can help reduce recovery times between big games, or allow them to travel a longer distance feeling far less fatigued.

When playing or training overseas (or even for domestic games), it's more than just the players who need to travel. We know that sports teams are composed of many professionals - including coaches, managers and medical staff. Commercial travel with a group this size becomes a logistical nightmare, especially once you start to factor in the large quantities of kit that comes along with the players. The extra costs aside, imagine the consequences of a key piece of equipment going missing or getting damaged in transit. With private jet travel, you can supervise everything being loaded on to the aircraft and be safe in the knowledge that we understand the value of every last piece of kit you take with you.

Why Choose Astute?

When you charter with us, you'll be assigned a full time account manager who is your dedicated point of contact for any queries, and will handle all of your subsequent bookings. This allows us to get to know you on a personal level, so each trip is perfectly tailored and no request is too big or small. Someone from the team will be available 24 hours a day, so you can get in touch any time you need to. Our deep understanding of the sports industry and what it takes to succeed gives us an edge, and we are fully equipped to deal with anything you need to achieve this when it comes to your travel.

We have unrivalled access to over 30,000 private jets of all sizes, and will negotiate the best possible deal for the aircraft you need. When the whole team and crew are travelling, this usually calls for airliner charter (also known as commercial aircraft charter, which is a full sized aircraft that commercial airlines use, such as a Boeing 737). This gives rise to maximum space for both passengers and luggage/kit, whilst offering a highly customisable cabin space and multiple opportunities for branding. Cabins can be configured to replicate business or first class on a commercial aircraft, or an even more spacious arrangement depending on the number of passengers on that flight. Ground transfers are also something we are able to organise for you if required, and therefore provide you with a single, hassle free quote covering the flights and travel for your journey.

Highly specific catering can easily be arranged, and we have the capabilities to provide a tailored meal for each passenger. We understand that nutrition for athletes is absolutely key, and that creating meals with the perfect nutrient profile can make a massive difference in player performance.
